At Buddys Auto, we strive to price all services fairly and ensure complete transparency with our customers.
While we are unable to provide estimates over the phone—since we have not inspected the vehicle and cannot rely on a customer’s or another shop’s diagnosis—this policy allows us to remain honest and fair to both our customers and our technicians.
However, we are happy to explain the cost of a diagnostic service. This diagnostic includes a thorough evaluation of the vehicle to accurately identify the system issue the customer is experiencing.
Pricing
Hourly Labor Rate
$125.00 Fee — For labor performed on a customer’s vehicle. This rate reflects the time, skill, and care required to properly diagnose, service, and repair your vehicle, ensuring the work is done safely and to a high standard.
Electric Diagnostics
$125.00 Diagnostic Fee — This charge covers the time and expertise required to diagnose electrical concerns, including tracing wiring, testing power and ground circuits, and performing the necessary checks to accurately confirm the source of the electrical problem. Careful testing and inspection help ensure the issue is properly identified so the correct repair can be recommended, saving time and avoiding unnecessary parts or repairs.
Suspension Diagnosis
$95.00–$125.00 Diagnostic Fee (based on time spent) — This service includes a road test and a thorough inspection on the lift to evaluate the vehicle’s condition. A full safety check is performed, and care is taken to accurately identify the source of any noises or vibrations. The time spent allows us to properly diagnose the concern and provide reliable recommendations to help ensure your vehicle remains safe and operates as it should.
Smoke Test Diagnosis
$195.00 EVAP System Diagnostic Service — This service includes scanning the vehicle for EVAP-related trouble codes, performing smoke testing to locate leaks or faults, and using the diagnostic scan tool to command the different solenoids and valves. Thorough testing helps ensure the problem is correctly diagnosed so the appropriate repair can be recommended, preventing repeat concerns and unnecessary repairs.
Standard Diagnostic Fee
$125.00 Diagnostic Services — This fee applies to most of the other diagnostic services we offer. It covers the time, expertise, and testing required to properly inspect, evaluate, and identify vehicle concerns. Our goal is to provide accurate diagnostics and clear recommendations so repairs can be completed efficiently and correctly.
Pre / Post Purchase Car Inspection
$125.00 Full Vehicle Inspection and Diagnostic Service — This service includes a complete diagnostic scan with a detailed printout, a Carfax background check, a thorough safety inspection, and a road test. We carefully inspect brakes, tires, fluids, belts, hoses, and filters to ensure your vehicle is in good condition. After the inspection, we take the time to have an open conversation with you, explaining our findings and answering any questions so you can make informed decisions about your vehicle’s care.
Pricing may vary depending on time and complexity. This does not include repairs, taxes, or shop supply fees.
Free Services
Complimentary Brake Visual Check
Our trained technicians will visually inspect key brake components, including brake pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines, and brake fluid level.
Complimentary Air Pressure Check & Fill
During this free service, our experienced technicians will carefully check the air pressure in all four tires (and the spare tire when accessible) and compare the readings to the manufacturer-recommended specifications for your vehicle. Tires will then be adjusted as needed to ensure correct and even inflation.
Complimentary Visual Tire Check
This inspection includes checking tire tread depth, uneven or irregular wear patterns, sidewall damage, cracks, bulges, nails, or other visible objects that could lead to air loss or tire failure. We will also look for signs of improper inflation or alignment issues that may be affecting tire performance.
Complimentary Oil Check
During this free service, our technicians will check the engine oil level and visually inspect the oil condition to make sure it is within the proper range and not excessively dirty or degraded.
