How to Tell Us What You’re Experiencing With Your Car
Explaining what’s wrong with your vehicle doesn’t require technical knowledge. The more details you can share about what you’re experiencing, the easier it is for us at Buddys auto to diagnose and fix the issue correctly.
Describe the Symptoms
Tell us what you notice, not what you think is broken. For example, say “the car makes a grinding noise when I brake” instead of guessing it needs new brakes.
When Does It Happen?
Let us know when the problem occurs:
-
During startup or while driving
-
At low or high speeds
-
When turning, braking, or accelerating
-
Only when the engine is cold or after it warms up
Sounds, Smells, or Feelings
Unusual noises, smells, or vibrations are important clues. Describe:
-
Clicking, squealing, grinding, or knocking sounds
-
Burning or fuel smells
-
Shaking, pulling, or hesitation while driving
Warning Lights
Mention any dashboard warning lights, even if they turn on and off. If you know what the light looks like or when it comes on, that helps.
How Long Has It Been Happening?
Tell us how long the issue has been going on and whether it’s getting worse or staying the same.
Recent Work or Changes
Let us know if you’ve had recent repairs, maintenance, accidents, or even something simple like a battery replacement or tire change.
Don’t Worry About Using the Right Words
You don’t need to know car terminology. At Buddys Auto we will ask questions, listen carefully, and handle the technical side.
Clear communication helps our mechanics diagnose your vehicle faster, save you money, and get you back on the road safely.
